Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about LoopCall.
How does LoopCall work without running in the background?
LoopCall uses Conditional Call Forwarding (CCF) — a built-in feature of every US carrier. When you reject a call, your carrier automatically routes it to LoopCall's number. Your phone isn't involved in the screening process at all. No app needs to stay open, no battery drain.
Does it work with my carrier?
Yes. LoopCall works with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and virtually all US carriers that support conditional call forwarding. The app shows the exact activation code for your specific carrier during setup.
What are "screening minutes" and how does the balance work?
Each screened call uses seconds from your balance — equal to the call's duration. You start with 10 free welcome minutes. Free users can earn more by watching ads (5 ads/day = 3 minutes) or sharing recordings (+1 minute each). Premium plans add minutes that reset on a weekly, monthly, or yearly cycle.
What's the difference between Loop Mode and Voicemail Mode?
Loop Mode plays pre-recorded grandpa audio clips, then echoes (parrots) the caller's own words back at them — creating a frustrating, endless loop until they give up. Voicemail Mode asks the caller to state their name and reason for calling, so you get a clean recording and transcript to decide if it's worth a callback. You can switch between modes anytime in the app.
Who can access my recordings and transcriptions?
Only you. Recordings are linked to your account and secured with signed, time-limited URLs. No one at LoopCall can listen to your calls. If you choose to share a recording, you generate a 24-hour public link — after that it expires automatically.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Everything is permanently and immediately deleted: all recordings, transcriptions, call history, your phone number, and your account credentials. Nothing is retained on any server. This cannot be undone.
Can I use LoopCall outside the US?
LoopCall is currently available for US phone numbers only. Conditional Call Forwarding codes and carrier compatibility are US-specific. International support is not available at this time.
How do I set up LoopCall?
Download the app, create an account, and enter your phone number. The app will detect your carrier and display the exact CCF activation code to dial — it takes about 30 seconds. Once set up, any call you decline will automatically be forwarded to LoopCall for screening.
